The University of Edinburgh is giving away up to two Higgs Centre MSc Prize Scholarships for international students. Scholarships are available to study full-time either MSc Theoretical Physics or MSc Mathematical Physics programmes of study.

Scholarships are available to international students who wish to pursue full-time MSc Theoretical Physics or MSc Mathematical Physics masters programme.

Scholarships are available in the field of Theoretical or Mathematical Physics. Up to two Higgs Centre MSc Prize Scholarships are available, each scholarship is worth £5,000 and tenable for one academic year.

Scholarship Number: There are two scholarships available. Eligible Nationality: Students of any nationality are eligible to apply.


  • Applicants must apply to study full-time either MSc Theoretical Physics or MSc Mathematical Physics programmes of study.
  • Scholarships will be on the basis of academic merit to students of any nationality. Candidates must have a UK first-class honours degree or its overseas equivalent.
  •  The candidate should have a very good command of English language. Therefore, the application should be in English.

Spring semester scholarship recipients will receive the scholarship only for the Spring and Summer semesters. In order to maximize the scholarship opportunity, all Spring scholarship recipients must be registered for full-time course load online (Summer only) or Face-to-Face. All Spring scholarship recipients must re-apply for the Fall merit scholarship before the deadline (see below).

The Dow Memorial Trust Scholarship is open to any applicant who has accepted a place to study undergraduate medicine or dentistry at the University of Dundee. Eligibility is based on financial need and commitment to study. Selection is usually made on financial hardship grounds.

How to Apply

Medicine – Application forms for the Dow Memorial Trust Scholarship are sent out to eligible applicants towards the end of April. Online application sent by school.

Dentistry – Year 1 entrants are sent an application form from the University Admissions Office in the summer prior to their arrival. Completed applications are returned to the Dental School by the notified deadline for consideration.
